Baggage Handling Systems Manager

 

Holder Construction is an ENR Top 30 Construction industry leader with operations throughout the United States. We are currently seeking a highly motivated Baggage Handling Systems Manager to join our project teams in Omaha, NE.

 

This position includes administering all aspects of multiple subcontracts related to the installation of new baggage handling systems, elevators/escalators/moving sidewalks, and passenger boarding bridges for the renovations and expansions of the Omaha, NE, and Burbank, CA airports.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

 

  • General contract administration (insurance, bonds, cost/change management, billing, deliverables, letters/notices, etc.)
  • Teamwork
    • Collaborate effectively with internal and external teammates.
    • Accept and adapt to change in a professional and appropriate manner.
    • Effectively communicate and listen.
    • Present ideas in a manner that is clear, concise, and easy to understand.
  • Submittals
    • Coordination of work with other trades, submittal compliance review with contract documents, and submittal process management.
  • Coordination
    • Daily interface and work prioritization with trade contractors, proactive communication, and resolution of issues within the CMAR group and architect and owner’s representatives.
  • Schedule
    • Develop detailed installation schedules with trade contractors.
    • Monitor and report weekly on manpower, productivity, and installation progress. 
    • Track required material deliveries to the job site from the submittals phase through actual delivery to the jobsite to support the Overall Project Schedule.
  • Quality
    • Manage CMAR’s quality process for these scopes of work.
  • Commissioning
    • Manage the start-up, pre-functional, and functional testing/commissioning process for the work. 
    • Manage the process through acceptance and turn-over including TSA certification.

 

Requirements for the job include but are not limited to:

 

  • Willingness and ability to travel or relocate to Burbank, CA or Omaha, NE.
  • Ability to work in both field and office environments.
  • Prior successful experience in the responsibilities above on a similar scale BHS system.  Elevators/escalator/ moving walks and passenger boarding bridge systems experience is a plus but not required. 
  • Managerial level experience of 5+ years in automated conveyor systems and controls.
  • Holder Construction will provide training on its project management systems but experience with other Construction Project Management Systems (ProCore, BIM360) is a plus.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) for performing daily tasks is required. 
  • Experience with managing Critical Path Method construction scheduling process (theory, logic, etc.) and software (P6, Microsoft Project, etc) is a plus.
