MANAGE SCHEDULE AND EXECUTION OF PROJECTS

We are currently seeking Construction Schedulers to join our team in supporting several large commercial construction projects across the United States.

Candidate will preferably have 5 to 10 years of commercial construction management and/or commercial construction scheduling experience with at least 5 years focused on planning and scheduling. Proficiency in Primavera scheduling software (P6) is required.  Proficiency in Microsoft Word & Excel, Microsoft Project, and familiarity with the concepts of Lean Scheduling and its interface into traditional CPM schedule is preferred.  Specific knowledge of commercial construction means and methods is also preferred.  Construction or Engineering degree or equivalent work experience, along with proven experience in creating and managing schedules with 2,500 activities or more, is required. 

 

Specific responsibilities include:  Key role in the management of scheduling and associated reporting for the project(s).  Development, maintenance and execution of schedules for multi-million-dollar projects.  Preparation and issuance of schedules, schedule reports/narratives, problem analysis reports, schedule impact fragnets, variance reports and milestone reports.  Strong understanding of the project’s scope leading to the development and maintenance of the project schedule objectives.

SUPERVISE CONSTRUCTION QUALITY FOR A PROJECT

This position is responsible for the evaluation, implementation and management of the project quality assurance and quality control program and performance of daily quality procedures and provide proper coordination and documentation that meet project standards and requirements.  The position will work directly with both internal and external team members, to provide document review, coordination, and implementation during construction and commissioning activities.

 

Position Description:

  • Manage and execute the project specific quality program in collaboration with the owner, design team, subcontractor team, and third-party inspectors, to meet the requirements of the contract documents.
  • Provide leadership and ownership of the entire Quality Control team
  • Familiarity with a broad range of general construction processes and nomenclature including testing laboratory protocols and procedures, soils and concrete testing, asphalt paving, structural steel and welding and general construction observations.
  • Plan, develop and manage a methodical and detail-oriented quality program to ensure appropriate document management, testing procedures are appropriately executed, and issues are closed in a timely manner to mitigate project risk.
  • Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications including identification of errors or redundancies for resolution by others.
  • Assist in management of the equipment commissioning effort, ensuring inspection statuses are updated appropriately to support the commissioning schedule.
  • Work with preconstruction, field supervision and other teams to ensure the project is set up to support the quality management needs of the program.
  • Manage inspections and tests are executed to the requirements of the contract documents.
  • Perform oversite of inspections, test, evaluations of different trades for all quality specifications
  • Coordinate with third parties, trade partners for inspection paperwork, manage testing reports and train on software tools for best practices and consistency. 
  • Participate in Trade pre-installation meetings to verify that each Trade has an understanding of the Project’s QA/QC requirements before beginning work on site.
  • Monitor construction activities and review materials and equipment delivered to the project for adherence to specifications, manage Engineers on coordinating lists, punch list items, observations and logs.
  • Manage company risk and understand all aspects of contract documents.
  • Ability to coach and mentor junior employees; seeking opportunities to grow in leadership roles.
  • Manage and oversight of follow up requirements as a result of deficiencies noted and documented.

 

Position Requirements:

 

  • 10-15 years of office or field construction focused experience on projects similar in nature, size, and extent.
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or equivalent combination of training and experience.

SUPERVISE CONSTRUCTION QUALITY FOR A PROJECT

Position Description:

  • Manage and execute the project specific quality program in collaboration with the owner, design team, subcontractor team, and third-party inspectors, to meet the requirements of the contract documents.
  • Provide leadership and ownership of the entire Quality Control team
  • Familiarity with a broad range of general construction processes and nomenclature including testing laboratory protocols and procedures, soils and concrete testing, asphalt paving, structural steel and welding and general construction observations.
  • Plan, develop and manage a methodical and detail-oriented quality program to ensure appropriate document management, testing procedures are appropriately executed, and issues are closed in a timely manner to mitigate project risk.
  • Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications including identification of errors or redundancies for resolution by others.
  • Assist in management of the equipment commissioning effort, ensuring inspection statuses are updated appropriately to support the commissioning schedule.
  • Work with preconstruction, field supervision and other teams to ensure the project is set up to support the quality management needs of the program.
  • Ensure inspections and tests are executed to the requirements of the contract documents.
  • Manage inspections, test, evaluations of different trades for all quality specifications
  • Coordinate with third parties, trade partners for inspection paperwork, manage testing reports and train on software tools for best practices and consistency. 
  • Participate in Trade pre-installation meetings to verify that each Trade has an understanding of the Project’s QA/QC requirements before beginning work on site.
  • Monitor construction activities and review materials and equipment delivered to the project for adherence to specifications, manage Engineers on coordinating lists, punch list items, observations and logs.
  • Manage company risk and understand all aspects of contract documents.
  • Ability to coach and mentor junior employees; seeking opportunities to grow in leadership roles.
  • Manage and oversight of follow up requirements as a result of deficiencies noted and documented.

Position Requirements:

  • 10-15 years of office or field construction focused experience on projects similar in nature, size, and extent.

MANAGE AND TRACK PROJECT CONTROLS

- Track with each Change Order Request and Subcontractor Change Order the Work Breakdown Structure and Schedule of Values, having subs provide the accurate breakout with COR pricing.

 

- Attend the Weekly Design Alignment Meeting on Upcoming Documents

 

- Maintain the Sub Document Tracking Log, insuring that we receive all pricing in a timely manner from the subs and that CORs are submitted in sequential order, with the exception of high dollar/long lead time priority documents/changes. Communicate the status weekly.

 

- Attend and manage the Weekly Change Management Meetings, both internal and external. Using both the Sub Document Tracking Log, Design Tracking Log and COR Logs - insuring they are updated and maintained.

 

- Review each Sub’s Change Item Logs weekly and that they are accurate and up to date - Ticket work is verified weekly, cost allocated weekly and incorporated into SCOs monthly. 

 

- Insuring that all subs have SCOs issued to them the first of the month for incorporation into bills the second week of the month.

 

- Insuring PCCOs are issued monthly.

 

 - GC Tracker/Cash Flow - set quarterly and through end of project projections and maintain actual billed amounts monthly within the tools.

 

- Manage General Conditions/General Requirement spending, applying accurate cost codes to Ms and Ls and tracking vs their budgets (as part of weekly and monthly requirements)

 

- With the above having been complete and updated, conduct complete, accurate and timely cost projections to present to leadership for their review and approval for submission to executive leadership.

 

- Attend FB program level Project Controls meetings and maintain requests/needs of the FB site lead while transferring information to leadership and managing Holder’s risk.

 

- Verify that HELIX and Procore are updated and synced daily/weekly.

 

- Verify that all cost dashboards and KPIs are accurately reporting.

 

- Work with FOA and her team to make sure all financial tracking tools are updated, maintained and in sync with cost management reporting and billing.

 

- Eventual review and approval of all invoices in CMiC for accurate code allocation but also to verify budgets are maintained (as stated above)

  • Review installations and all mock ups with owner, client and architect. Understand all quality processes, procedures, expectations and the utilization of tools to ensure project success
  • Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications including identification of errors or redundancies for resolution by others.
  • Provide leadership & willingness to take ownership of trade management for yourself and other QA/QC Engineers
  • Oversee the quality team, support any documentation and office-based responsibilities to meet construction schedule and specific QA/QC program.
    • Engage into the submittal review process ahead of installation to identify quality concerns and ways to increase quality assurance.
    • Engage with O/A/Es & continuously to understand project goals and track the strategies to meet and exceed them. Complete daily field walks with field team to ensure quality assurance. Regularly review scope installation progress with the field team to ensure quality assurance.
    • Coordinate resolution for all systems/tools, data entry, tracking tools, Completion List, Punchlist, NCR, Observations Deficiency Logs, along with other designated software, provide documentation of all meeting minutes.
  • Familiarity with a broad range of general construction processes and nomenclature including testing laboratory protocols and procedures.
  • Coordinate with trade partners for inspection paperwork, manage and train the team on software tools required to manage and execute the quality program. 
  • Create, document and distribute all checklists, inspections, completion lists, punch lists, and reports on the office side. Communicate to facilitate field activities required for issue completion, along with issue durations and due dates with trade partners.
    • Work with both office and field staff to understand the project schedule in order to execute the inspection process to support critical commissioning and energization dates.
  • Participate in Trade pre-installation meetings to verify that each Trade has an understanding of the Project’s QC requirements before beginning work on site.

  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with the project team, subcontractors, consultants and owner representatives. Execute inspections with trade partners to oversee checklist and accuracy before and after inspection. Work with trade partners to ensure documentation is completed and work is installed to a high standard of quality per the project documents, in support of the project schedule.
  • Review installations and all mock ups with owner, client and architect. Understand all quality processes, procedures, expectations and the utilization of tools to ensure project success
  • Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications including identification of errors or redundancies for resolution by others.
  • Provide leadership & willingness to take ownership of trade management for yourself and other QA/QC Engineers
  • Oversee the quality team, support any documentation and office-based responsibilities to meet construction schedule and specific QA/QC program.
    • Engage into the submittal review process ahead of installation to identify quality concerns and ways to increase quality assurance.
    • Engage with O/A/Es & continuously to understand project goals and track the strategies to meet and exceed them. Complete daily field walks with field team to ensure quality assurance. Regularly review scope installation progress with the field team to ensure quality assurance.
    • Coordinate resolution for all systems/tools, data entry, tracking tools, Completion List, Punchlist, NCR, Observations Deficiency Logs, along with other designated software, provide documentation of all meeting minutes.
  • Familiarity with a broad range of general construction processes and nomenclature including testing laboratory protocols and procedures.
  • Coordinate with trade partners for inspection paperwork, manage and train the team on software tools required to manage and execute the quality program. 
  • Create, document and distribute all checklists, inspections, completion lists, punch lists, and reports on the office side. Communicate to facilitate field activities required for issue completion, along with issue durations and due dates with trade partners.
    • Work with both office and field staff to understand the project schedule in order to execute the inspection process to support critical commissioning and energization dates.
  • Participate in Trade pre-installation meetings to verify that each Trade has an understanding of the Project’s QC requirements before beginning work on site.

 

Position Requirements:

 

  • 3-5 years of management or field construction focused experience on projects similar in nature, size, and extent.
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or equivalent combination of training and experience.

This position is responsible for the evaluation, implementation and management of the project quality assurance and quality control program and performance of daily quality procedures and provide proper coordination and documentation that meet project standards and requirements.  The position will work directly with both internal and external team members, to provide document review, coordination, and implementation during construction and commissioning activities.

 

Position Description:

  • Manage and execute the project specific quality program in collaboration with the owner, design team, subcontractor team, and third-party inspectors, to meet the requirements of the contract documents.
  • Provide leadership and ownership of the entire Quality Control team
  • Familiarity with a broad range of general construction processes and nomenclature including testing laboratory protocols and procedures, soils and concrete testing, asphalt paving, structural steel and welding and general construction observations.
  • Plan, develop and manage a methodical and detail-oriented quality program to ensure appropriate document management, testing procedures are appropriately executed, and issues are closed in a timely manner to mitigate project risk.
  • Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications including identification of errors or redundancies for resolution by others.
  • Assist in management of the equipment commissioning effort, ensuring inspection statuses are updated appropriately to support the commissioning schedule.
  • Work with preconstruction, field supervision and other teams to ensure the project is set up to support the quality management needs of the program.

  • Perform oversite of inspections, test, evaluations of different trades for all quality specifications

Safety Coordinator

SUPPORT SAFETY PROGRAMS AND PRACTICES FOR A PROJECT

Washington, D.C.

Holder Construction Company, an Atlanta based commercial construction company with operations throughout the United States, is seeking a highly motivated Safety Coordinator to join our project team in the Ashburn, VA area.

Primary Responsibilities:

    • Assist with executing our safety strategy and zero accident culture on the project(s)
    • Monitoring daily construction activities for compliance with OSHA and company rules/policies
    • Implement the project’s safety program.

Requirements for this position include:

    • Up to 5 years of commercial construction safety experience
    • Formal safety training including OSHA 10 hour and training in scaffolding, crane management, steel erection, emergency response, fall management, excavation and confined space, rigging, hazardous waste and NFPDS/erosion control.
    • Ability to identify and correct safety deficiencies in the field
    • Possess excellent interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels in a construction environment
    • Candidate must also be proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • Experience with a general contractor preferred

Ideal candidate will also have a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Safety Management. Professional safety certifications (e.g. CSP, CHSP) including OSHA 500 certification would be an asset.

Ideal candidate should be located within one hour of one of our regional offices (Atlanta, Charlotte, Dallas, Denver, Phoenix, San Jose, Washington, DC), but in most instances will have the ability to work remotely. 

  

Primary Responsibilities: 

With direction from a project lead, develop and maintain web software utilizing modern web technologies 

Collaborate with the rest of the engineering team to design and launch new features 

Maintain code integrity and organization to support team oriented coding environment 

Create technical and production support documentation in accordance with department standards and industry best practices 

  

Requirements for this position include:  

Custom Development experience using JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, .Net, and C#: 2+ years 

Experience developing with front end frameworks like KendoUI and JQuery 

Experience working with backend technologies like MongoDB, Progress Kinvey, SQL 

Proficiency with Visual Studio, Git 

 

Preferred skills:
