As a woman in a male-dominated industry, I get to bring fresh perspectives to the table. Being part of a diverse team strengthens the project as we engage in problem-solving, decision making, and team building.

As Holder’s first new graduate in the scheduling department, my role started out as a trade-responsible engineer learning to be a builder. That role changed from feeding the field and building relationships with trade partners, to now building the schedule as a tool that everyone can use to plan the project.

While studying engineering in college and interning with structural engineering firms, I found that while I loved the technical aspect of engineering, I was more interested in the general contractor’s role. I met Holder at a career fair and never looked back!

Working for Holder has shown me how essential it is to work safely, especially since many of my family members have been in the construction industry. Knowing that everyone on site has a family to go home to reminds me how critical a safety professional’s role is.

My favorite Holder memory was the recruiting and onboarding process, from flying to Atlanta to interview, to defining my start date after Holder made me an offer for employment.  This was the best professional decision that I made in my life.

My family has a history working in construction, and my dad, grandfather, and brother have worked for Holder. Seeing them be part of huge, impactful projects that were built through decades for our city and communities is something that inspired me to join the industry as well.

I feel extremely lucky to have grown with Holder over the past 10 years. My career has taken unexpected and rewarding turns—from Preconstruction to Interiors, Operations, and now Associate Development. Holder has consistently supported my growth, offering opportunities to explore my passions and shift roles, locations, and departments whenever I voiced my goals.
