Occupational Safety and Care Coordinator

Holder Construction, an Atlanta-based commercial construction company with operations throughout the United States, is seeking a Coordinator to join our project teams in Northern Virginia. The position will work directly with the Safety Team, Risk Management Department, Subcontractors, and other third-party agents to manage the claims process for any onsite worker injuries that occur at our project sites in our Mid-Atlantic market. 


 Primary Responsibilities:

  • Administer the claims and care process for any onsite injuries. Coordinate a consistent internal and external claims management process.
  • Responsible for setting up each project’s panel of physicians, as well as establishing and maintaining a working relationship with partnered clinics and mobile medical services.
  • Accompany workers to offsite medical clinics, providing guidance on available options. Assist with follow up care/appointments for injured workers.
  • Provide information and assistance to management and workers on risk management and safety policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Communicate with local, regional, and company leadership and relevant parties on claim updates.
  • Maintain incident reports and review claim trends with the Safety/Risk Department to identify and act on risk factors and related opportunities.


Position Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of construction safety experience, including onsite claims handling, required.
  • Familiar with “1904 Subpart C - Recordkeeping Forms and Recording Criteria"
  • Able to travel regularly to multiple jobsites within the Mid-Atlantic region. 
  • Bachelor’s degree or Associate degree preferred.
  • Excellent people skills.  Able to provide a best-in-class experience for workers, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Able to build collaborative relationships with internal teams and external partners.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other technology applications used to support case management efforts.
