Data Engineer

Holder Construction Company, an Atlanta based commercial construction company with operations throughout the United States, is seeking a highly motivated Data Engineer to join our team in our Atlanta Office.

Job Summary: A Data Engineer in the Data Estate group focuses on implementing an efficient, secure, and scalable ETL process for all of Holder’s data. This includes finding, archiving, documenting, securing, QA/QC’ing, and presenting data for future use.

This role will be fully onsite in our Atlanta Office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize APIs to ingest data from 3rd party systems.
  • Document the architecture of 3rd party systems and any requirements, including schema, relationships, and fields.
  • Validate data quality, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Saturate and normalize data.
  • Produce datasets for use by Business Analysts to meet company needs.
  • Perform data analysis required to troubleshoot data-related issues and assist in their resolution.

Qualifications:

  • 1-5 years of working experience.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and experience with relational databases.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in data analytics tools and software.
  • Experience with cloud services (e.g., Databricks, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
  • This position is fully in-office in Atlanta, GA.

Preferred Tools and Software:

  • Visualization tools including Power BI, Looker.
  • Cloud ETL tools such as Azure Data Factory and Databricks.
  • Documentation tools such as Confluence.
  • Task and workload management tools similar to Azure DevOps or Jira.
  • SQL and BigQuery data backend.
  • Process diagramming software similar to LucidChart.
