What is Hardhat in Hand?

In partnership with our client Meta, formerly Facebook, Holder is excited to launch the first Hardhat in Hand program in January 2022 at our Social Circle, GA jobsite. The Hardhat in Hand program is an 8-week workforce development training program designed to prepare individuals for entry level employment within the construction industry. The program provides participants with an introduction to the construction industry, educates on construction and safety basics, and provides work-based learning opportunities at one of Holder’s active jobsites. Not only will this program provide education on the fundamentals of construction, but it also connects participants with our trade partners, who are experts in their fields and best-of-class firms in the industry.

Program Format

Participants will spend the first four (4) weeks of the program in a classroom setting, with multiple jobsite walks each week. During the second half of the program, participants will partner with one of our trade partners, or with Holder, for four (4) weeks of work-based learning in the field. Upon graduation of the program, participants will be eligible to be considered for full-time employment.

Holder is proud to be working with the Construction Education Foundation of Georgia, also known as CEFGA, to deliver the classroom content. CEFGA will also provide a case manager, dedicated to helping resolve social, economic, or other barriers that may arise for any of the program participants.

Our trade partners will also play a key role in the program’s success. Anning-Johnson Company, Critical Power Partners (CPP), and McKenney’s Inc. are partnering with Holder to provide learning opportunities for participants.
