City of Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport Infrastructure Cabling

The scope of work for this project is in three phases. Phase 1 is a Premises Distribution System (PDS) that consists of an Inside Plant and Outside Plant conduit and cabling installation that serves the infrastructure and interconnections for the Passenger Information and Paging Systems (PIPS) devices, monitors, and rack equipment to be installed by others throughout Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. The site included the terminals, concourses, and airside operations. Phase 2 is the Main Distribution Frames (MDF), and Intermediate Distribution Frames (IDF) rooms, which were constructed in each of the terminals to house the PIPS equipment racks. Each room required dedicated electrical, mechanical, network equipment, and systems to sustain the PIPS end devices in a controlled environment. Phase 3 is the Core Network Room (CNR) constructed as a central location for managing and monitoring the PIPs devices and systems and the IDF/MDF rooms. It is a 1,600 square foot, single story, free standing masonry and precast building. We installed 20 miles of outside plant fiber, 60 miles of inside plant conduits, and 3 MDF and 41 IDF rooms.
