MERCEDES-BENZ STADIUM

Working with the Community

The Mercedes-Benz Stadium is a world-class sports and entertainment complex. The sheer size and scope of the project created a platform for economic and community improvement on a large scale. In partnership with the Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation and the Construction Education Foundation of Georgia, the Westside Works training program was created with a goal to educate, inspire and employ residents from historically underprivileged neighborhoods in the Westside community. Hundreds of residents gained employment through the Westside Works program and continue to support the construction industry today. *Holder-Hunt-Russell-Moody Joint Venture

HERSHEY MEDICAL DATA CENTER AT PENN STATE UNIVERSITY

Two Collaborative Cultures Combine

Because of the collaborative culture and progressive business model of Penn State, The Hershey Medical Data Center is a career favorite project from both Holder and PSU. What made this project stand out among others was the highly collaborative environment. The project team set a mission to become a high performance team meeting a higher level of quality and have both sides leave the project wanting to do business together again. A "conditions of satisfaction" process set expectations and provided 360 degree feedback, allowing each team member the opportunity to improve, fine tune, be proactive and keep team goals as a top priority.

VILLA CHRISTINA

Being a Hospitable Builder

Hospitality is a core market for Holder completing nearly $1 Billion in construction. The Villa Christina Hotel offers an Italianate-inspired facility with luxury guestrooms and suites, state-of-the-art fitness complex, and new roof top pool deck with skyline views. Attention to the existing facility and maintaining a positive guest experience was a top priority during the construction of tying into the existing building.

CHEMISTRY BUILDING AT EMORY UNIVERSITY

Incentive to Think Beyond

The Chemistry Building at Emory University integrates graduate and undergraduate education, creating an environment to engage “thinkers.” This 70,000 square foot space, both adaptable and technologically advanced, represents an effort to create a collaborative community among researchers, faculty, administrators, and students. The new commons, atrium, and exterior courtyard are the heart of the department and community.

NORTH HILLS TOWER II

Executing Safety through
Strategic Partnerships

CONFIDENTIAL PROJECT

Powered by Renewables

Holder installed 10 MW of fuel cells and a 20 MW solar array across 100 acres, along with a highly efficient data center operating on the same site - creating a comfortable and sustainable working environment. The facility's power is 100% offset by the renewable installation. Holder has in-house in renewable energy strategies evaluating power purchase options, site selection, design and construction. We understand the diverse needs for our client’s carbon mitigation, and energy and water efficiency.

24TH AND CAMELBACK

A Core Commitment to Green Building

The 24th and Camelback office building is a LEED Gold certified building for the base building and existing operations. The energy and water efficient measures are showcased to tenants in practical ways to reduce the building and occupant impacts to the environment.

HOLDER CONCRETE

Added Value in Self-Performed Concrete

Structure can often amount to 20-25% of total costs, but Holder’s concrete division, or HCG Services, LLC, has the ability to self-perform concrete packages to provide our clients with great savings and enhanced coordination on concrete work. This team works alongside our MEP and BIM departments to coordinate systems and create a strategic plan early on. By also using a model throughout construction, we can track actual volumes and costs.

CENTER FOR THE ARTS AT VIRGINIA TECH

Best Use of Virtual Design and Construction

The Center for the Arts encompasses intricate spaces around every turn. Building Information Modeling was incorporated early in the design to ensure that every space was built the way Virginia Tech envisioned. BIM was utilized for Design Coordination and Quality Control, Scope Clarifications and Trade Management, and Innovation and Lessons Learned, to enhance productivity and cost savings, quality and workmanship on the project. Holder incorporates BIM on all our projects, enhancing the quality, schedule, and value for our clients.

ADP

Balancing Budget and Schedule

This call center’s design specified a unique conduit running the power supply. The system would require an expensive thickness in the slab, we proposed less expensive alternatives. To give the owner adequate time in assessing all the options, we altered the schedule and erected the tilt wall panels and steel before pouring the slab. In the end the owner switched the design to conventional rigid conduit and saved over $700,000 with no impact on the schedule.

INN & CONFERENCE CENTER RENOVATIONS AT UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND UNIVERSITY COLLEGE

Transforming the Experience

The renovations at University of Maryland University College transformed an outdated facility into a dynamic state-of-the-art hospitality center, and the country’s first environmentally friendly hotel and conference center. Through educated design choices, a commitment to sustainable purchasing by the entire team, and using recyclable materials and energy saving systems, the project achieved the highest level of sustainable certification.

DOUTHIT HILLS RESIDENCE HALL / MIXED-USE AT CLEMSON UNIVERSITY

Transformation through Collaboration

Building over 7,200 beds on campuses across the country, we understand the special nature of active universities and residence halls. The Douthit Hills development transformed 80 acres at the gateway to Clemson’s campus into a vibrant pedestrian-oriented mixed use environment. Seven housing buildings containing 1,700 beds are situated along a series of interconnected outdoor spaces. The site design is sensitive to the existing topography and mature trees. All buildings are LEED Silver Certified.
