Delivery Method Matrix - This version includes typical industry terms and highlights why all of the confusion? After years of tracking the vocabulary in our industry, it appears that the heart of the confusion over the project delivery terminology is in two areas... 1) where do you separate between Design-Bid-Build & CM at-Risk and 2) recognizing that there are three types of Design-Build. This link will take you to a matrix that sums up one way of looking at your options. Every project is using one of the options on this matrix.
Planning a Project? Do You Have Predesign Guidelines? Georgia has recently updated their "Predesign Guidelines" which are an excellent guide that all Owners can use. Simply stated, "Predesign" is having some idea of what you need, some idea of how much it should cost, and some idea of how long is should take to design and build, PRIOR to starting your design efforts.
